Tried that - and it didnt fix anything unfortunatly - its really frustrating! Thanks for the feedback though
In the first image, I'd try upping the FSB frequency from 400 to 533 MHz.
It could be that this setting is stopping the increased RAM MHz from taking effect.
Will that not simply overclock the CPU though?
Yes it would - it'd put it up just over 4.2GHz... maybe a tad high for a Q6600? lol!
I have attached screenshots of my bios settings, and a cpuz readout. You can see I have changed the voltage to 2.2v and the speed to 1066 in the bios, however cpuz still only reads 1.8v? It must be something really simple - surely?

the spd is just a display of manufacturers settings for the ram, the memory tab will actually show what you have set in the bios.
