this is a stupid question but if you have a big hdd (320GB etc) then will it use more processing power than a 80GB hdd (if both hdd's had the same amount of used memory)

Quickly checking with HD Tach, an 80GB HD utilizes more of the CPU. Only reason I can think of is because the 80GB drive will most likely be older built :rolleyes:

That said, the difference is only 2%, i.e. the 80GB utilizes 4% of the CPU

Doesnt that program show cpu usage to + or - 2% anyway lol

No. The size of the harddrive does not affect cpu utilisation. More modern harddrives may use slightly less cpu time than older ones, but it won't be noticable at all.
