this is a stupid question but if you have a big hdd (320GB etc) then will it use more processing power than a 80GB hdd (if both hdd's had the same amount of used memory)

Quickly checking with HD Tach, an 80GB HD utilizes more of the CPU. Only reason I can think of is because the 80GB drive will most likely be older built :rolleyes:

That said, the difference is only 2%, i.e. the 80GB utilizes 4% of the CPU :p

No. The size of the harddrive does not affect cpu utilisation. More modern harddrives may use slightly less cpu time than older ones, but it won't be noticable at all.
