I have just got my new laptop and basically i want to get a lot of my files from my desktop onto it.

The laptop has Vista Ultimae and the desktop has XP MCE on it. At the minute they are both connected via a hub which is connected to the modem/router, the desktop and laptop aren't networked together as i don't know how to do this properly.

I dont really want to use a USB stick to transfer the data as that will take me ages. So is there any way i can transfer the files through the network?

Thanks, Scott

I have ran the home network wizard on the xp machine but how do i do this in vista? I cant seem to find an option for it, im new to vista by the way :)

Yeah i have enabled all of that and now my laptop finds the deskop thanks, all files being copyed across at around 8mbps. Much quicker than a USB stick :)
