hello what operating system you running? xp 32 bit? xp 64? reason i ask is that xp 32bit only see's 3 gig at max.(not sure about vista?)
if you look at the asus website and search your board ..it will give you a list of ram speeds you can use.
like 667mhz
1066 mhzect...pc 5300 pc-8500 ect...ect...
also aswell as speed you need to note if they are ddr2 or ddr3 for example
find the highest one ...and then search for brands of memory at that speed.
like my board can take 1066mhz pc-8500 DDR2 and bought corsair dominators ..which im sending back cause they are faulty.
when you get your new memory do not take off the stiickers keep the box ...and test them with memtest86 as soon as you can. in pairs ..then if a fail ...individually ,
