Bit of a noob question but ive got a pc with a spare PCIe slot and it currently has a Nvidea fx 1300 graphics card in. Would it play games better if it had a card in the PCIe slot like a gtx 260.

Welcome to the forums

Unfortunately, you can't link to competitor websites here, so I suggest you remove the link. Replacing it with this (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-167-AS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=927) should get across the same point.

To answer your question, yes it will fit in the PCI Express slot and it will play games much better than your current card. However, the GTX260 is a large and power hungry card, so it may not work if your case is too small or your power supply is too weak. What is the case you are currently using and what is the power supply unit you are currently using? If it is a prebuilt PC (like from dell or HP) then what is the model name/number?

Also, what are the rest of your system specs? As if you put a modern graphics card in an old PC, your gaming performance will be limited by your older components, meaning you wasteed your money on the new card.

My pessimistic guess is that this is the seller of the card trying to drum up interest.

If not, sorry, you'll have to answer the questions that cmndr_andi has asked if you want a definitive answer.

Hi cmdr thanks for the feedback – I went for the dumb luck approach and bought one and it works !
