Hi,

If fitting 80mm fans to a case to draw in cool air:

a) Is a filter recommended?
b) If yes, then fitting inside the wall of a case, which is the better order?
Wall - Filter - Fan or Wall - Fan - Filter?

Sounds noisy!

I wouldn't position the filter behind the fan because whilst it will prevent dust from entering your case it won't stop the fan getting clogged up with it. Depending on how your filters attach I would go Filter - Case - Fan, or Case - Filter - Fan.

I like filters because i'm too lazy to regularly clean the inside of my case. I just rid the filter of any dust build up every week or so. Also, I think i'm correct in saying that a filter will hinder the airflow of a fan so if you clean your case a lot you might be better off without a filter (if looking for optimum cooling).

can you fit any 120mm or even 140mm fans? they would push more air a lot quieter.
also case/filter/fan or filter/case/fan
