Recently got an 8700k finally, paired with a gigabyte Z370P D3. Fiddling a bit with cpu upgrade option from bios, as was curios to check what stock voltages that presets apply, i selected a preset that was for 4.5 all cores,, but after a reset i noticed was named 8600k 4.5 :S
Windows booted ok and all, but was wondering if using a different cpu upgrade preset option could have any downside effects, or what exactly those presets do ?
The second was ram related, i see that almost everyone its using 1.35 / 3000+ mhz on 8700k, despite the intel specs of 1.2 / 2666. Again, what is the issue , if any, for using the higher speed and voltage ram, it affects the life span of cpu, or anything at all ?
