Noob watercooled build..

Give us chance to research that...
I will, but want to do some fiddling on air first.

Just ordered another 4Gb of memory though. :D

my experienced opinion is something like maze 4 or 5 blocks or mcw60 with ramsinks.

Don't go for full cover blocks unless you fancy binning almost your entire investment when you sell the cards.

It's up. :D

HOW ****ING HOT. (and loud)
If I put my fingertips on the thin edge of the pcb board, I can't keep them there more than 5 seconds and being a mechanic, trust me I have asbestos fingers..
Idle temps according to CCC is 78 deg C FFS !!

Does anyone know if a maze 4/5 block will fit for sure? I have 2 sitting here and would probably order 2 4870's if they do!!!!

I'm pretty sure they do, like 90% maybe more.

I seem to recall something about people fittinng aftermarket air coolers that have the same hole config.

Don't go buying them on my say so but basically its only the 8800GTX/ultra that hasn't taken this heatsink config due to the huge die size.

I'm looking at the 4800 series as my next card as I'm so sure the maze series will fit.

having trouble installing 3Dmark 2006 (think I might have an old one, however it can wait until the morning to sort out)

Haven't you got the block intake and outlet the wrong way around ?

I'm assuming that you are pumping water up from the bottom of the case.

Here's my WIP :

Nope, I'm pumping from the bay res

So it goes
Bay res
CPU block (centre)
Down to the rad
Out the rad and back up to the res

Nice pussy by the way. :D

Been considering a new WC setup myself for a while now but really not sure if it would be beneficial as my current seems to be doing just fine.

Currently have the XSPC WC Kit, single rad and it manages to keep my [email protected] fairly cool (64-66c load).

Would i really notice much difference if i went for something like the Swiftech h20-220 or seperate components, case is a CM stacker btw
