Hi there apologises for the noob question:

Am getting a new pc from a competitor of ocuk this week with the following spec:

AMD x2 5000
1gb ddr2
M2NPV-VM mobo.
radeon x1950 pro pcie
320gb sata

and it comes with a basic case that looks kind of boring. I was wondering if anywhere sells Mini Tower micro ATX cases (preferably aluminium/ cool blue/green style lights etc?).

I can see lots of midi tower cases but presumably my motherboard would be too small for those cases.

If not, would it be reasonably easy for me to buy a new perspex side panel for the case it comes with and install some coloured lights inside it?

cheers!

you can't link to or mention competitors here buddy.....best read the rules. ;)

also.... www.overclockers.co.uk is a great place to buy from

Oops sorry, didn't realise! apologies. Don't worry am not advertising them though, I think their service is extremely poor and I would never buy from them again due to their customer service. Am extremely pleased with the x1950 pro I bought off ocuk though!

Any ideas about the case, is it poss to put a micro atx motherboard in a normal midi tower

cheers

it is possible, but defeats the object?

I've just bought a silverstone sugo evo1, it's a great little case that you can use a full size psu in!

the 1950 you bought would be ideal as it's a single slot?

Thanks, the only reason I ask is because I'd like to keep my options open in case I would like a case with aluminium and lights and stuff one day. Thanks for the info.

yep the x1950 is single slot but i've got no intention of crossfiring it anyway, (too expensive and my motherboard isnt crossfire).

just had a look at that case. looks very nice. I must admit, I do prefer the idea of having a small case that is easily portable. After all, if a powerful single graphics card can go in there and 1 drive. onboard sound etc. i dont really need a big case

Silverstone TJ-08? Better cooling than the Sugo, and more space. My HTPC is in a TJ-08.

I like the look of that case, how much can you get them for, does it take a regular size psu, and is it micro atx, oh yea, and is it aluminium

cheers

About £60 (no PSU included) MATX, standard ATX PSU but check optical drive depth, bit tight with PSU cables thick aluminium front panel. Available in black and silver.
