Dropped it yesterday, and now it won't sync to iTunes. It says "Attempting to copy to the disk "iPhone" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." So, I'm guessing I've messed the hard drive up. :(

It still takes pics, saves them, and everything else, just fails to sync. Is it totally borked?

I had this issue with my phone, except it had been wet, and then i'd beaten it about out of frustration.

When trying to restore is it coming up with 'restore and update' in a smaller window over you intially click 'restore' in itunes? If so press ctrl, or shift, or ctrl & shift (cant remember which) as you click restore. Supposed to ask for the file location you want to restore to, but it might just come up with a similiar box with just 'restore' in like mine did.

Is it failing to start restoring? or hanging/failing mid restore?

I haven't tried restoring yet, in case it doesn't work again. Everything is working fine, except syncing, so I'd rather not risk it. :p

Are there any obvious marks on it that scream 'he dropped me'?
If not try going to an Apple Store, look angry and wave the iPhone at them shouting 'Doesn't work'.....

If they restore and it goes pop you can shout more and tell them you want a new one :)

Yeah, there's a big line across it of dead pixels, or what looks like it, from when I dropped it a few months ago. I'm just careless. :p

They are far more likely to help you if you are just nice to them, no one wants to help a person who broke their iphone and is demanding a new one for free at any costs.
