Noooooo... why me?

Well its happened, my 360 started playing up on friday. Freezing constantly for about 30 mins, then started working fine. Switched it on today and same again constant locking up, swiftly followed by 3 red lights. :(

How long is the warranty from high street stores? I bought mine around july last year, so would i take it back to the shop or contact microsoft? Also would i have to take the hdd in as well as i saves on there.

12 Months afaik, i took mine back to A SHOP yesterday - walked in with console said it was broke they opened up another took console out handed it to me and i gave em busted one, they printed out a new receipt so another 12month warranty :)

Twice i've taken it back there, same thing each time - top guys :) (one i took back i got in Nov last year)

You can take it back to a store still I think, easier than sending to Microsoft and probably more likely to get a new console.

Either way you've only got a month left of warranty, lucky it broke now!

Well im on my 3rd now in 2 months! this time the DVD drive went...

I did take out a 2 year extended warranty glad i did. Got mine from the high street so no posting the console to anyone if and when it dies again.
 
random question :)

Im currently on xbox number 3 :) my first one was a lunch console since then ive had it replaced twice by micro$haft does each replacement come with another 12 month or do i only get 12 months from the date of purchase on the first console?

Such is life :( Well now you'll have a brand spanking new 360. I hope the new one is as reliable as a Toyota. Wishful thinking :rolleyes:

Heh that reminds me of when I was a kid and someone got hit with a cricket ball just to the side of their eye, and the PE teacher at school said, "Crikey, you were lucky!"... and I just thought, "Nah, if he had been lucky he'd have been stood a foot away from where he was standing when he got hit" :D
 
You only get one 12month warranty, ie, if you exchanged your xbox after 11months you would in reallity only have 1 month warranty on your exchanged xbox. I goes from the date of perchase of the original item...............crazy i know but im sure thats how it works. You should however get a new reciept everytime you exchange your goods so even if you exchanged it in the 11 month and it failled 6 months later you can still prove its less than 12 months old.........i would guess you could still get it exchanged but that would be upto the shop where you got it from
