ANGRY!

Once again F@H flakes out due to an unexpected system crash and takes out 89% of a 600 Pointer!

What's the point of the checkpoints if it can't recover from a crash!? My problems should be sorted now [conflict between ATi Tool and new CCC drivers] but it has cost me about 2 days of crunching all together!

Bad luck Sirius:( At least you have found the cause this time.
I think the trouble with the checkpoint system is it only has one and overwrites it every time. surely a better plan would be to have the last five or so and overwrite the oldest so you are much more likely to have a healthy backup?
I'm no programmer but it doesn't seem like too much to ask, does it?

I am a programmer [well, i dabble :p] and believe me it would take no effort at all.

I would have expected a Grandfather, Father, Son backup plan with something like this. The Son being the most recent backup. Should F@H crash then it can fall back on the Son, if that was broken then it can fall back on the Father and if thats broken it can go back to the Grandfather.

Im suprised there isn't just one backup considering how much effort goes into a WU.

Actually good idea that!

I already use an automated backup tool that runs twice a day, I can configure it to do the folding folders!

Think I'll do that later. Cheers :D
