Hey Guys,

Just finished my first build, using an i5-3570k with a hyper 212 cooler.
Not installed windows yet but just on the UEFI I'm getting cpu temp of 44-45C

Is this normal and okay?

Thanks.

I don't know about temps for your specific chip (they sound okay), but in the BIOS/UEFI the chip won't go into a halt state like it would when idle in the OS, and thus the temperatures are higher there.

it's normal, the cpu runs at full speed/voltage when in the bios hence the temps, with speedstep working once in windows cpu v will be less than 1v at idle and 1600mhz,then switch to full speed/voltage if stressed

and temps will be much lower, mid 30c at idle
