hey guys,

i am in the market for a new laptop and i was wondering which one to choose.

i had a look at a few laptops at pcworld and have to say they are quite thinner than my dell inspiron laptop i bought nearly 4 years ago.

another type of laptop that caught my eye was the ultrabook series, those are ridulculously thin and light especially the samsung one.

which one would you recommend me a normal laptop or an ultrabook?

For the price of an ultrabook, you can get a "normal" sized laptop with a much more higher spec.

Ultrabooks are decently specced, but you are paying mainly for the size/weight.

well i need to be able to my work on it such as typing as well as connecting usbs and an aux port to connect it to the speakers sometimes.

currently looking at a samsung series 5... seems decent ok now confused... series 5 or series 9

It sounds like you aren't going to be doing anything at all intensive, so, if you think you will benefit from the portability and battery life of an ultrabook then it'll serve you well.

Bear in mind that an ultrabook will of course cost a lot more than a base spec laptop which would also carry out the tasks that you want (but not be as portable or have battery life as good.

I would recommend a normal laptop if you are using it at home a lot.

If you plan to be portable then a Ultrabook would be highly recommended, thanks to its ultra thin design:)

I'd recommend an ultrabook. Even for occasional transport a laptop can be a pain in the ass. If you can afford the ultra, do it.
