Normal Temps for Ryzen 9 5900X

its a 12 core 24thread cpu it's always going to run hot, I've got a 360mm rad (artic freezer 2)with offset bracket and it still runs a little hot

It’s not really the core count. Under load an 5900X is making about 135-140 watts of heat. A custom water loop with a 80mm rad could deal with that load easily. Ryzen will keep boosting its frequency until it taps out on power use or temperature. If the Zen isn’t pushing one, or ideally both of those envelopes , then it’s dropping performance and something is wrong.

mine tends to run around 70c when under load, but to catch it idling is a hard thing to do :D
