Hi ,

Im running a AMD 64 x2 4400+ with a Zalman FS-C77 Fatal1ty CPU Cooler and a BFG 7800GT oc with a stock fan .

Running all games on max settings without any problem , the only thing i can see ( or hear ) is my Zalman CPU fan is allways on high and i never hear my graphics card fan get any louder in games is this a problem ?

Temps are.. CPU 44 c idle and 47 c at load
GPU 54 c idle and 58 c at load

Is that normal ?

I have used speedfan to turn down my CPU fan to about 60 % and the temps stay the same as above .

I allso turned down and up the other 2 fans listed in speedfans and nothing changed ...is this normal ?

Here is a screen shot , I would appriciate any comments and advice .

Thanks

I think your temps are on the high side. Idle I would like to think 34-40 is the norm and loaded 40-50 would be safe. I would increase your case cooling if possible and buy a better cpu cooler/fan combo. Dual core cpus do disipate lots of heat.

Thanks guy's ,

I have a intake on my case to fit another fan so i will make sure i get one fitted .

Is the Zalman FS-C77 Fatal1ty CPU cooler no good then ?

Idle a bit high, Load are fine.

Do i have any options open to make the idle lower ?

I have enabled cool and quiet in the bios but nothing changes ... CPU fan is still on full and my GPU fan never changes speed ?

Is that supposed to happen that way ?

Thanks for your help and comments guy's

cool and quiet will just slow the cpu back down so i would disable it again as it wont help you very much. not too sure about playing with the other settings

Thanks iraiguana ,

I have deactivated it now , I was thinking about reapplying the AS5 again to my CPU , I may have put it on a bit too thin .

Do i have to remove the old paste first ? ...If so whats the best way to do it ?

Allso can i put the AS5 on bottom of my heatsink ?

Thanks for all your help .

AS5 can be put on the base of the heatsink,

the best thing to remove as5 is tim cleaner or isopropyl (i think) but ocuk do sell tim cleaner.

for the "best" results you should remove it, but you do not have to. hope this helps.

Hey iraiguana ,

Thanks for your help , I will try and remove the old AS5 first then put it on the CPU and the bottom of the HS .

Cheers .
