Never had a HTPC before and the lack of fans scares me LOL!

So fans wise, it now has.

2x120mm fans pushing very very very little air over the mobo. They are not drawing in air, they are fixed inside the middle of the case.

PSU fan

Standard stock intel cooler.

GPU is fanless, just has large heatsink

Just seems like this is not enough.

Its not overclocked and i dont game on this machine. So its a web machine.

Thanks

Ps Its scary quiet

42 is FINE :D

check intel site for your cpu temp

EDIT: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=35348 the 'max' you can run at shows as 74.1'c so lets just call it 70'c :)

you should run 'intelburntest' do 2 'runs' to start with and set RAM to 'maximum' then post results on here, also you might want to use CPUID Hardware monitor as it give more 'clear' temps (temp of each core) and GPU temp is easier to identify on there :)

Ok so does the intelburn test stop? Or do i just wait until it stops?

edit just read read me - Testing now SCARY  First time ever done this BOOM!

Those are fine, you say your not gonna overclock anyway, or game on it. Ibt is pretty stressful and web browsing wont push the system temps near what ibt will.

well i did say to run 2 tests so it wouldn't take so long but its ok :)
68 is fine for your CPU, remember that this test is pushing your hardware way beyond 'normal' usage so you won't ever see these temps in your day to day usage

and is fan speed 2557 noisy enough for you now? :D

im surprised you have as many posts that you do and have never heard of this test :o

a lot of my posts are elsewhere that cant been seen. IE moderating :)

I used to like my pc's to look flashy, neons, led's etc. But now i have grown up lol, i wanted a htpc. Then next year will build a rig from scratch something i have never done

Not gaming or anything just surfing the web and usual day to day things then you have
nothing to worry about there.

theres also ATI tool if you want to test your GPU :D

That item burn test was quite scary really! Nah will leave the ati test lol.

I was going to upgrade the cpu cooler to an artic pro 7, i think they are called.

But i found in Bios i can turn on silent mode, which has made the stock cooler silent lol.

Temps are all below 50 :D
