Normalising MP3's

I've found a program called MP3Gain to normalise all my MP3's to the same volume and avoid clipping of the track, is this something I want to be doing?

I use MP3 gain and apparently it's entirely reversable. It's a good program and seems to work fine.

If your MP3 player does 90db SNR should you use 89db in MP3Gain?
