I have received my replacement board - a new Asus P5E WS Pro.

I had got hold of the mosfet waterblocks for this board but I did not notice that the northbridge no longer has the hook mounting like the P5K WS it replaced due to failure.

Therefore, I cannot use the DangerDen block I was using on the old board.

I could simply leave the heatpipes in place, but I would prefer to liquid cool.
Anyone know which blocks will fit this board?
I have been looking at the EK range but it is unclear which of the three they offer is compatible.
The XSPC X20 also seems OK but I am unsure which to go for.

THANKS for any replies.

if you're getting it from here drop them a web note.
they'll answer in a couple of hours.

Thanks m8

I may do that - already asked a friend who runs a competitor store online for advice. He is an expert on liquid cooling.
Do OcUK stock the EK blocks? I must have missed them when browsing.

For now, it seems the board replacement did not fix the issue I had with failing POSTs. The RAM needs to be replaced I fear :(

What a nightmare :(

This whole thing has stressed me out more than it should. Waited months to get back online and then the system dies without warning after three weeks...I am cursed!

I have a XSPC X20 block on my P5E northbridge. Works a treat too. I have always preferred the bolt through mounts over the hooks. Better contact and you can adjust it as well.

I had problems with my P5E when i got it. could'nt even load the OS. It was indeed the ram. It simply did'nt like my Geil Ultra PC2-6400 kit. It did'nt like my Corsiar XMS2 kit either. In the end i sat down and read the thread over on the XS forums and found out what did and did'nt work with these boards. It appears that they are very picky about memory. I learnt a lot about clocking the board as well from that thread.
