It seems like all I do on these forums is ask questions. Sorry about that!

Anyway, here we go again.
I've got a Gigabyte 880GM-UD2H running a Phenom II X6 1055T overclocked to 3.8GHz. Now I'm not good with overclocking so I bought the pre-overclocked bundle from OcUK. Correct me if I'm wrong but the northbridge gets overclocked along with the other thing right?

I'm planning/hoping to have the cpu and gpu water-cooled but I didn't think about the northbridge so that'll be left with the default cooling.

When I initially started the PC up with air cooling (Titan Fenrir) to check it worked (before I fitted all the water stuff) I noticed in HWMonitor that the 3 temps it gives (not the cores) were about 60C on the cpu and what I'm guessing was the northbridge after only a minute of Prime 95. (admittedly I didn't have much airflow through the case, as I had the side of the case off.

What sort of temps can the northbridge run at safely?

Hello GoogalyMoogaly :)

The main Northbridge functions have been integrated into the CPU now (CPU-NB/IMC) so you don't need any additional cooling . . . the CPU-NB has its own multiplier so can be independent of the main processor OverClock . . .

The Northbridge chip on the board only really gets used for graphics now (IGP) and should run fairly cool unless you OverClock/OverVolt it . . .

Have you bought the WaterCooling stuff already or?

Hi Big.Wayne
Thanks for explaining that, guess that would explain why the 2 temps were so close, if they're on the same chip!

Yes, water-cooling has been bought and is currently leak testing.
Piccys here.
