Norton AV 2006

Last week I installed Norton AV 2006.

Since then, ive had viewing attachments with webmail mainly word documents.

If somebody sends a word document, if i try and open it from webmail, it loads word, but does not load the document.

If I save the file to my pc from webmail, and then run, it works fine (but iv noticed it virus scans the file before opening it).

Is there a way around this? Maybe to disable scanning attachments on webmail?

Can you disable the office plug-in in Norton?
It used to be in Options and Miscellaneous.

Or better still get a decent AV

Get rid of notron AV and use NOD32!! :cool:

Norton AV is capable of creating all kinds of problems, probably more than you get with viruses!

I'm not joking, I have uninstalled Norton AV on friend's laptop yesterday and few problems with other programs have been fixed after reboot!

Norton's not worth your time IMO.

he's right you know!

will end all the problems your mate is having, i install that on everyones pc that i get asked to fix, i just fix their pc using the trial and some other tools, then i set their homepage to the nod32 purchase page and tell them they must get it!

dont hear back from them for a few months until they've somehow trashed it again, lol
