I have a "hooky" version of Norton, and am trying to work out how to turn off the firewall, I cant seem to find any settings for it.
(need to turn the firewall off to see if it sorts out my MSN issues and wouldnt do it it otherwise)
Any idea how I can find the firewall settings in my norton. Its a 2006 version.

edit: when I go into firewall settings it says I have windows firewall turned off, but Norton worm protection is turned on, will switching off the worm protection mean ive switched off the firewall?

Save yourself a LOT of grief and bin that pile of carp. It isn't worth what you didn't pay for it.

AVG Free (http://free.grisoft.com ) is an excellent anti-virus product. Eats up a LOT less resources than Symantec/McAfee products.

ZoneAlarm's basic firewall is still free and easy to understand. Bit of a hog, but far better than the Symantec thing you are playing with. (http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=GB&lang=en)

Lately I have also been trialling Comodo Firewall - again free.

And most important - Spyware cleaning - Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware.

And always beware of hooky security products. I have found a few on pirate disks that had viruses built in. LOL. Would never trust security being supplied by the criminals. :D
