Anyone used it?

Is it trash?

I have read a few positive reviews which surprised me.

Last time I touched Norton (when I worked in the retail park computer rip off merchants) it was just so heavy on resources.

Their earlier versions (pre 2003), with just Anti-virus software weren't too bad on resources and fairly compact and discrete. They were just crap when it came to actually detecting viruses.

I'd say NOD32 is the best when it comes compactness and effectiveness.

Doesn't Windows 7 have it's own AV now anyway?

I'm waiting for the mass produced Limited Edition Gamer Boxset in a metal tin with trading cards.

Never heard so much tripe in my life. Concentrate on making your core product lighter on resources.

Norton 2010 is actually very light on resources, and has good detection too. A total improvement over previous years. It ranked in the top 5 on the latest AV-comparatives iirc. MSE missed a trojan for me today, and MS just said if I'd paid for their other product it wouldn't have gotten through :\ Stick to Avira imho.
EDIT: BTW, what's wrong with the AV ("keep all AV questions in here") thread at the top of the forum? :p
