norton ghost 10 question please

hi all

ive got a quick question on norton ghost 10.

is there any way that you can create a ghost image using the "copy my hard drive (advanced)" option to a CD/network location please.

as it appears you can only write a image file to anotehr local hdd. is this correct?

Haven't used ghost v10 but will it let you backup to a mapped drive?

just copy it to another location, then restore it again

btw, it won't like it if you restore to different hardware

I can work out how to get around this.

install a 2nd hdd, send the clone img to there, then move it. but the machines that our company will be cloning only have 1 hdd. hence my question.

anyone?

Create a partition, backup to the partition, copy to cd, remove partition. Easy.

you can do it to shared network locations too..

acronis is a better program to use btw..

try the trials of both norton + acronis

the question i really need answering (and thankyou for your above replies)

do you have to have the software installed on the computer to image it

just you would end up with a load of computers with copies of ghost on it - which i dont want.
