My friend's NIS'06 is not allowing him to turn on the 'Auto-Protection' feature. When he tries to enable it, It just tells him there's some sort of error and directs him to the online diagnostic tool...which tells him to reinstall it. After doing so, the problem still prevails.

Any suggestions on how to sort it out?

Personally ,I would stay clear of Norton and other intrusive anti-virus programs like Mcafee especially Internet Security versions, these products really slow your PC down.I use Panda myself without any problems but ,in a case like this , remove Norton [if you can ,these companys make it difficult for you to remove their programs ]and put something on like AVG . It's free and it's good , scans everything it needs to scan , memory ,system files etc.etc and finds most if not all virus's .
