Its that time of year when I need to renew my anti virus and this last year I have been using norton 360. Looking around for oem versions now and "internet security" seeems to be cheaper than 360. How do these 2 programs differ ?

They are both as bad as each other!

:p

No, seriously, here is a chart showing the differences.

To be fair, the new Norton products are supposedly pretty good - although they'll have to work hard to gain back the ground they lost over the past few years.

Go for norton internet security - 360 is the same as NIS but with a data backup feature.

Actually, Norton NIS 2009 is very impressive and run with very little system resources, on my 6 years old Pentium 4 PC. It is day/night difference from old dinosaurs of bloatware, bugged Norton software few years ago.

Forget Norton and have a look at NOD32, Norton is far too agressive and wants to take control of everything.

I have NOD32, and tried Norton products before, and I can honestly say I will never ever go back to Norton !!!
Although, apparently according to my gf, Norton 360 is pretty good compared to other Norton AV's.

i have to say the new norton is fantastic a huge improvement over the previous versions.

i did used to use NOD32 and kasp (both of which i consider to be the best on the market right now)

but for the price i think norton is fantastic - i believe you can install it on 4 PCS with the 1 purchase.

well done norton i say
(dont bother with 360 by the way)
