Norton problems

Hey guys, I don't use Norton so I have no idea what's wrong here, so hopefully someone can help. My friends laptop has Norton 2005 installed on it, and everytime you start windows, or open an Office program, it comes up with the windows installer - stops, and displays the error message:

"Norton Antivirus 2005 does not support the repair feature"

urm... what's this all about? it's quite annoying!

There are thousands of other people with the same problem if you Google the error message
