Norton - What the hell.

My Dad, still thinking he owns me and I know nothing of computers thinks Norton provided by BTYahoo is a good idea. How the hell do you turn the damn thing off, does anyone know? There's no 'Disable protection' button or anything.

I can't uninstall it... my Dad will go off his rocker, and he's already LANGUAGE! about this GPU i've got to send back.

NOD32 is great. But for my preferance, Kaspersky.

Why don't you just explain that norton is a terrible bit of software. If he doesn't believe you just take him to one of the many sites which will also say its pants.
Then you can just remove it.

Also I take it this isn't your own pc? Cause if it is just do it

Norton it total bloatware, and puts tons of system DLL's that stay on there even if you uninstall Norton. I've tried Norton, and within 10 minutes the system started to get BSOD's...uninstall and still pig slow. Fresh install time

For Anti-Virus, try AVG Free. Miles better than Norton crapware.
And Zone Alarm for firewall.

Just because something is free doesn't mean it's pap.
