I've just received my renewal from NU which, I think, is a rather high £839, it was less than that last year, with 0 no claims! I'm a 21 year old male with a 1.6 Escort and 1 years no claims. I thought I'd go on their website and do a quote, exactly the same details, same car, same me, totally identical....£504! This made me rather angry that a company would reward its loyal customers with an increased premium so I rang them up to see what they’d say. I spoke to a nice Indian guy who basically said that they use two systems to quote people, one for new customers and one for renewals, and that is isn’t uncommon, but I was best to go with the online quote! At this I asked for the phone number for customer service, and guess what, there isn’t one, but there is a fax number!
I’d like to act on my morals and use a different company, but it seems NU are by far the cheapest, if you don’t renew a old policy! Has anyone else found this, and if you haven’t, make sure you check next renewal!
