Quinn-Direct really do know how to keep their customers happy, the excess paid for the accident I had back in January was £175.00 and was told by the Claims Dept Manager when I met him to go over the scene of the accident, that no matter what, because I didn't have legal protection i'd never see this money again, and guess what came through the post today, a cheque for £175

:D:D:D

10/10 to them tbh!

If its not your fault your allowed to claim that back from the other parties insurance rather then your own. Arguing that case could be done by a layman though companies always prefer professionals.

I never take legal cover but then I dont often run expensive motors and I see no need really

Well it's good to see they've gone and done the work for me, as i'm not well up on insurance and let things settle.

you dont need an expensive motor to te taken to court.........
if you can afford it ALLWAYS take legal cover.. in this day and age of no win no fee there will allways be some joker taking you to court even if you did hit him in a 300 quid car.

Thing is, at the time of taking out my previous policy legal cover wasn't an option but it is now, for +£20.00 but I still opted out :o

Iam allready covered 3rd party though, am not sure what else I would need it for apart from pursuing my own claims.
Maybe if I was a rich man but Iam not worth suing tbh

Will the other party involved have received any invoice/paperwork to state the overall costs she has created being the one to blame.

?

your third party .. great but theres nothing to stop the third party ( i.e the person you hit) from sueing YOU directly, if you had it your insurance company would cover the cost. the average claim in the uk for a motoring accident or RTA is 7.5k

what would you rather 20 quid extra on your insurance for legal cover or a bill for 7.5k plus expenses say of arround 3k and balifs hammering on your door??

im not having a go, ive been in that situation and thankfully had legal cover

Thats not usually the case but sometimes it would be shown on renewal, they could probably phone up and ask.
why do you ask

Well she's going to need to know whoever she gets insured with next isn't she? I was asked what the total costs were even though I wasn't to blame.
