Hi everyone

Posting on behalf of my dad who is currently pulling his hair out. He has just moved from Pipex to AOL but is having some major problems. He originally had Pipex broadband and was using a Belkin Wireless router with a Belkin Wireless adapter in his PC. He has now switched to AOL and was told to use their Netgear Router that he was supplied with. The problem is, his laptop picks up the internet no problem but the PC does not. If you run the AOL setup cd the PC recognises the wireless network and connects through the Belkin adapter but if you switch the PC off and restart it the connection is gone again and you have to rerun the CD.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance

There was no ethernet adapter on the back of his PC so originally connected the router to his laptop and setup the internet connection. The router is now connected to nothing apart from the telephone line and power. He was told to use the new router by AOL who said it would cope better with his new broadband.

How would you connect to AOL if you didnt run the CD or install any software?

Thanks

Not 100% sure on what make the Belkin router is he has.

At present, if he right clicked on the Wireless Network connection icon in the bottom right of the taskbar, I told him to click on View Available Wireless Networks but he said it opens the right box but instead of networks being shown, it just says the adapter can't be found, or something similair!

So if I just get him to reinstall the drivers, you think that may be enough?
