Got these in my old PC:

Creative x-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series
Creative Gigaworks S750 7.1
Updated with the newest drivers.

Running with Windows Vista 64bit.

Can't get this set to work in 7.1. When I use the Creative Console Luncher's "auto detect", it sets 5.1. I've also set it to 7.1 at the control panel.
When I use the "noise" function then I don't get sound in my rear speakers.
1 thing I don't get from the Creative's "how to setup 7.1" they show a sound card with 3 plugs + 1 mic while mine has 4 + mic. From what I see back there I have to be colour blind to plug this wrong. The input that doesn't have a cable attached is the grey one wich is suppose to be the side speakers. The Cable I have is a 4-3 cable wich has 4 in the sub and 3 in the sound card. Green to green, orange to orange etc.

The 4 into 3 cable is designed to give you 7.1 for the first generation xfi/a2zs. For the second gen xfi you will need a to buy a new cable or set of cables so each of the 4 jacks on the back of the s750 sub plugs into the corresponding colour jacks on the xfi-t.

If you look at the 4 into 3 cable, you will see the orange and black cables have 4 poles, not 3. This was a 'smart' idea that creative came up with to make you buy a new cable if you wanted anything over 7.1 on an alternative sound card.

set control launcher to 5.1 and in the S750 control pod set upmix button to 5.1==>>7.1 unless the rear amp of your S750 is faulty this should work.

also launch THX Setup Console it will show you where to plug your cables.

I didn't get 7.1 sound when I did as you wrote above. Looked at the THX Setup Console and it shows I haven't plugged in the grey cable. This is the same picture/info I get when I use the "Jack" TAB with the Creative Console Luncher.

to check that your S750 amps are working. set the master volume on the control pod to around 50%-60% and set the volume of the rear spk. to max now touch lightly each of the tip of the cable that you usually plug to your soundcard it should produced a loud hum from the spk. touch them one by one and listen to the rear spk. until you can hear a hum from the rear spk.if you did not hear anything it is possible that the cable is faulty or the sub try changing the cable 1st and try it again.the S750 sub can fail without any reason at all, try calling creative if you still got warranty.make sure also that you plug the speaker cable properly.

For the information:
the Soundcard was bought new: 2008-10-12 and the speakers isn't more then 2 months old. Hardly used since I were on vacation when I got them.

Tried out what you said. I do get sound from my back speakers. The volume controller box were at 5.1->7.1 setting at that time.

Annother thing. Is the lights for the Master-Center-Side-Rear-Sub-Treble-5.1->7-1 and 6.1->7.1 suppose to be yellow/orange? Because mine is. The volume LEDs however are green though.

EDIT:The Black cable from the sub was the one that made the noise on my 2 rear speakers.

well thats good it means that your expensive speaker is not borked and the trouble is pointing to your soundcard.try your onboard sound or try another sound card or another pc.

My onboard soundcard doesn't "give" 7.1 sound either.

Got me some new cables today. Some "universal" ones. 7.1 works now, but I only get it to work in Crysis. Not on music/movies in general. Tried with a original DVD (shooter) and a CD (Metallica). Didn't work. Doesn't these support 7.1?
