Ok so i have a gigabyte Z77-UD5H mobo and am planning on getting an i7-3770k along with a Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler. I already have a Silverstone Raven-1 case to use but am wondering which memory i should be getting. I need atleast 8GB and a kit that will will not obstruct the CPU cooler. I ve read various reviews and it appears that going past 1600Mhz makes little to no difference for gaming. I was considering these two:

16GB Mushkin Ridgeback Redline 1600mhz
4x4GB modules
PC3-12800 CL7
Timings of 7-9-8-24 , speed= 1600/7 = 228.56

This are quad channel but i ve read that since they come in 2 pairs they can be used in dual channel as well, correct me if am wrong

Due to its low timings a relative low overclocking will give you a nice speed increase and if you read that review they did manage to overclock it quite high before relaxing the timings. But that review is old and on a P55 chipset. I also have no idea whether IB prefers raw memory bandwith over tighter timings, an older review from AnandTech was suggesting that tighter timings give a better minimum framerate 1600/cl5=250 compared to 2000/cl8=250 http://www.anandtech.com/show/2792/12

My other option is
G Skill 2x 4GB PC3-19200 DDR3 2400MHz
Timings 10-12-12-31, speed= 2400/10=240
Trident X Heatsink

Would either of these obstruct the CPU cooler as they both come with heatsinks? Btw does IB come with a stock cooler afterall?

Does anyone have anything additional to recommend or point to any helpful reviews?
Thank you for your time
