So, I'm on the verge of buying a Iphone 3GS, can you help answer my questions?

What is Internet tethering, saw it instore for £15 a month?

I understand you get unlimited Wifi, does this mean I can connect to the internet in towns / citys for free? I heard you have to pay sometimes?

Its a 24 month contract (long for me!) is it possible to upgrade earlier or even cancel?

Is there a new Iphone hitting stores soon?

No and no, that's what a contract is - you commit for 24 months and then live with it.
