OP speaking as one who is in a nightmare relationship my best advice is to get out your relationship once and for all... the only reason I haven't, yet, is because we have two children together and are ridiculously financially entangled...

I know how hard it is as despite being treated like complete and utter **** on a daily basis there is a big part of me that still loves her but as others have said I am a mere shell of what I used to be, I have gone from being fit and healthy and enjoying life to overweight, suffering with depression and generally suffering health wise as a result

My girlfriend sounds similar to yours in regards to her being a nasty piece of work when ill, but you should not make the mistake I made and continually try to put the situation straight, give her a lot of leeway because of her past experiences etc etc as I promise you that you will just end up apologising for everything even things like how you breathe!

Get out before you get this girl pregnant!

Oh yeah this as well.

I resent women who do this to men.

One of my friends had this done to him... he was ready to up sticks and move out to Oz with his dad until that the girl that he was 'seeing' (and about to finish with) announced that she was pregnant.

Game over.

In the next 3 months he had to battle to get a house and other stuff sorted as she was made redundant and they only had his wage.

Am not saying that people in this situation are destined for misery. Just going on convos I had with him and know he was seriously gutted.

To be fair, did he not sort of do it to himself? :p Or did she harvest his sperm during the night and trap him? :D I can't see her having much control over that scenario herself either!
 
Take her to a hypnotherapist or find a more normal human being that would be happy when someone wants to care for a loved one.
