Heres some sunset beach action from a couple of days ago (Note the moon and venus).

Slight noise issues I know, will redo the processing at some point.

Nice colours in this, I'd maybe be tempted to be a bit crafty and move the moon to a more pleasing position in the sky to balance it a bit better (towards the right of frame more and a tad higher) against the left hand side land but thats personal preference. Venus is so small I'd almost think about taking it out as it might look like a dust spec or something to some people - although at high res I'm sure it looks a little better.

Needs a slight rotation to the right to straighten up but otherwise great stuff. Did you use any filters?

Very good still, where's Venus though?
Man, I want that Sigma 10-20mm!

Venus is a little way up and left from the moon.

Damn thought I had it straight! Eyes must be wonky, lol.

I was stacking hitech 0.9, 0.6 and 0.3 ND grads to try and slow the shutter speed as much as possible (the 0.6 was on upside-down so the gradiant wasn't too obvious).

Nice idea about moving the moon, might try that!

I hate it when I don't spot wonky horizons on my pics, so annoying lol

Good work stacking the filters, where they hard or soft grads? Its worked very well. I've yet to really get any practice with mine before I go away and am starting to worry I'll end up learning whilst I'm away and maybe missing shots because of it!

Soft grads. This was my first outing with both the filters and the 10-20, I reckon they're pretty easy to get to grips with. Could do with a couple of non-graduated NDs for this sort of work I think though.

I've got one hard and one soft grad to play with but I did also get a 0.9 ND for slowing things down, added to that I have a CP as well to slow things further and I should be covered for long shutter speeds I hope..!

Just had a look at your gallery by the way, every shot is superb! Mind if I ask what the hosting/gallery software is?

Cheers mate :)

I purchased a simple flash gallery for about $20 that I found online, then customised that and designed the rest of the site to fit around it. Did all the design in photoshop then got my friend to build it all for me in flash. The drop down menu was built from scratch by my friend as well.

The guestbook was also custom built to fit within the site as well as I didn;t want to link to anything external :)

I purchased a 10-20 this morning, and I'm really impressed with it. But I'm realising quickly that I'll need to come to terms with filters (had no experience whatsoever!). As for the OP shot. I think it's great, there is a little noise issue, but IMO at this size it's nothing at all to worry about. I'm not so sure about the position of the moon though, or even whether it has a place in the shot. Still, a lovely shot.
