This is a cheap £54inc vat Kingston Value ram 4200 ddr2 stick that I got a friends pcbuild today. Decided to have a little play in Gigabyte Ds3 and conroe combo. I have a sneaky feeling that these Kingston labelled chips might be re-labelled, speed binned Micron D9s.
With a little extra volts they they like to be clocked. :D

Just wish I had had of bought a pair. :(

Yea my Geil Value 667 runs DDR 900 at 1.9v 5 5 5 12, can't even get my Gskill ZX to run 800 on my DS3 at 2.4v muchless 900 rofl
[edit] might be a different case in dual channel for you though mate, may not clock that high.

Using 2.2v vdimm the memory starts to go flakey at 963mhz, don't want to push it any higher as I haven't got active cooling over the sticks.

I now have a dilemma on my hands, the friend who I am building the am2 setup for is not a clocker at all, old lady in her late 60s. Do I give her this stick of ram or give her my 2x512mb sticks of Adata Vitesta ram instead, all the sticks have lifetime guarantees and receipts so no probs with any future failures. Can get another stick of Kingston from the same supplier and then I would have a nice matched pair of 1 gig sticks for very little money. Mmmm decisions, decisions.....

This stick is definately a keeper, now running 800mhz at cas4 4-4-15 at 2.1v. Now the stick is pulling the same tight timings as those Geil sticks. The pcbuild is going to get my old Vitesta 512mb sticks and I will order another Kingston stick to make up a pair ;)

Just checked the price and I got it wrong, it was £51inc vat. An excellent value ram bargain.

Seems to be very stable as well, will run orthos to test it out for longer periods. Ordered a second stick, should make an excellent dual channel setup, hopefully!

Give her the 2x512mb, she'd benefit from having the dual channel mem and you'd get a great 1Gb module to play with and add another to it.

That is what I have done, just ordered another stick of Kingston to match this one. Hopefully they will be from the same batch.
Am now running Orthos to validate 875mhz cas4 4-4-12 at 2.2v.

Damn good value ram ! :D
