Hi all,

This is my first post here and I'm totally clueless with PC hardware as I've been gaming on Xbox since the original was first released and using a MacBook for work. Some hand holding is definitely needed so go easy on me!

As mentioned, my budget is around £1200 but I can go a bit higher if it means I get water cooling and a sexy GPU. I will be connecting to my 4k LG TV and already have decent keyboard and mouse so that budget is purely for the PC itself.

What it will be used for:
  • Run current AAA titles like Fallout4 (especially Fallout4!) and a butt-load of mods :)
  • Play movies/Netflix in 4k (I'm happy with gaming at 1080p)
  • Allow decent performance when using Adobe products for work (I don't use 3d or video editing software)

Some features I'd like (if possible):
  • Water cooling
  • Silent running
  • One of those super expensive GeForce Ti cards I keep reading so much about
  • 16Gb RAM? Or more???
  • 2Tb Hard Drive

I was originally planning to buy a built system from Overclockers.co.uk, but they don't seem to offer water cooling when defining your build. I'm happy to have a go at buying the various parts and building it myself as I know a couple of people who built their own rigs.

I found a build list elsewhere that sounds pretty good to my amateur ears. What do you think?..

  • Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
  • Swiftech H240-X 90.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  • MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
  • G.Skill TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
  • Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
  • WD Red 2TB for NAS 3.5-inch Desktop Hard Drive - OEM
  • MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card
  • Thermaltake 850W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
  • Thermaltake CL-F039-PL14RE-A 51.1 CFM 140mm Fan x2
  • Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 Full Copper - liquid cooling system radiator

EDIT: I've been informed that water cooling isn't really necessary, so feel free to ignore that part.

Thanks in advance for any and all help with this. Sorry for the long post!
