hi,
ok so ive been playing fallout 3 for ages, and i thought ah, just another quest.
My saved point is now where either me or her go in and activated the purifier BUT how come when i send her in i still die!
I dont wana end the game, ive done like NON of the side quests and i have some awsome weapons and im at a good levels.
I dont want to restart the game.
If i say i will go in and just walk out the building can i continue the game?
Otherwise my last save point is quite a while ago :(
Basicly do you just have to avoid this quest for the rest of your adventuring days now?
I thought there was like hundereds of endings? all i can get is i put the virus in or i dont and either me or her go in, same vid appart from either says you went in and was a hero or you wernt couragous enough, and then either you killed every thing, or didnt. I count that as 4 (bearly as its only 2 scenes that vary), not the many i thought there was

You playing on 360 or PS3? On 360 get the last DLC that allows you to increase your level to 30 and continue after the "end". If you have a PS3 then you will have to wait a month or so for it to come out on PSN.

No that particular point is the end. Either you do it, and die, and then be remembered. Or she does it, She dies, and the game ends, and you're remembered as not willing to give up your life. There are a few endings, but they all are pretty similar and are grouped around few choices.

I dont think you can choose to enter and leave.

On xbox, gah, last normal save was an age ago, when fighting my way out from the presedent.
Must be why you get a frikin lazer pistol that does 40 damage when you kill the colonel, coz you cant use it! lol.
Im not at home atm, when i get in i will try just walking away but i have a feeling it 'blows up' if you try and exit, not good times :-(

As has been mentioned. Get Broken Steel DLC (its well worth 800 Microsoft points) then you can do that quest and carry on and the game no longer ends.

And save more lol,I have lots of save slots for my game just incase and as I'm on ps3 completed it the reloaded an old save to continue all the side quests.

And get Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, and Point Lookout while you're at it, some awesome missions and rewards for doing all 3 of them, all well worth it.

Thanks guys, Which is the best expantion to get? Or do you need Broken Steel to continue from the ending? Do non of the others let you past it?
I liked the look of the pit, im very much close combat and heavy weapons, no rifles or pistols ;) so the weapons looked cool in it.

Broken Steel is the one that lets you carry on past the main storyline, so if you want to carry on, that's the one to go for. I personally think all the DLCs are worth getting, but I did enjoy The Pitt a lot. Just make sure you have a guide for it handy if you want to get all the achievements for it, as there is a collection one which would take ages without a guide.

Davey quick question about the Pitt, If you miss one of the collectibles can you go back later? I haven't played this DLC so if it can be as spoiler free as poss that'd be great :) Cheers!

Aye, as said, you can go back to The Pitt at any time after finishing the quest line there. In fact, Operation: Anchorage is the only DLC that when done you can't revisit the area. You do get some very nice goodies from it though so it's definitely worth doing :)
