Not displaying via DVI-D

Hi all, got a bit of a strange one. Hooked up GTX680 to DGM 27" via DVI-D and screen came up no signal. Took cable out of card (DVI-D) and put it in DVI and my screen booted up fine. What am I missing?

Im pretty sure I read something saying that your not meant to connect DVI-D cable up to DVI?

DVI-D (digital only), DVI-A (analog only), or DVI-I (digital and analog)

Your DGM 27" only uses analog?

Ok all seems to be working now *shrugs sholders* Rebooted and all worked fine. Very strange. Thanks for your input Tommybhoy.
