just bought a 260 gtx and it seems my seasonic s12 600 has nt got the waft to power it needs 36 amps my 2 12 volt rails have 18 amps each can anyone reccomend a power supply sub 100 notes

I thought as long as both the 12 volt rails had 36 amps combined it was fine? (2x 18 = 36??) Have you actually tried it and it doesn't work?

Adding rails doesn't work like that as far as i know. It'll probably be more like 32-33 amps.

Corsair HX520 has 40 amps on the 12v rail and is £70: HERE

Alternatively check out the HX620 with 50 amps on the 12v rail.

Also, if you don't need modular connections then the TX650 (HERE) is a steal at just over £70.

I believe they have 5 year warranties too. :D

Cool, didn't realise the HX520 has 40 amps on the 12v rail! Shame I only have a 8800GT for mine hehe.

yeah on it now but the gfx card keeps dropping out ..still get a picture but no gfx card in display settings i think it right on the border line

So what's the problem?
You don't test stability by looking software but stressing hardware.

GTX260 needs only 136W (~11A), with rest total peak would have hard time in achieving "mighty" 300W which isn't anything even remotely close to output capacity of that Seasonic.

You have apparently overclocked CPU so drop that to default, more powerfull graphic card stresses motherboard easily more.
Also not all gigabyte motherboards are "known from stable BIOSes" so check do you have newest BIOS.

If anyone asks me overclocking is 100% too easy when people always assume is in somewhere else than overclocking.
