Just recieved the following email where I pre-order my wii, (can't meation names)

Dear Customer,

Due to a European shortage of the Nintendo Wii Consoles, we regret to inform you
that **** will be unable to supply your pre-ordered Nintendo Wii at launch.
As an Official distributor of Nintendo products we are guaranteed more stock
before Christmas, but Nintendo have informed us, along with all other official
Nintendo retailers, that the console will not be freely available until next
year.

All pre-orders will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis and we will
fulfil your order as soon as we can.

If you no longer wish to keep your pre-order with ***** please login to your
account and remove the item from your Outstanding Orders.

:(
Take about upsetting I pre-ordered on the 15/09/2006. Phoned them up and from talking with the guy on the phone the message is sent out when they have sold out there allocation, but he couldn't confirm if I was on the list.

Should have listened to my mate when he told me to stay clear of them on launch titles, after his issue with his 360.

Well I am of to sob for 2 hours and then break so stuff.

Just to rub it in:

Dear Customer,

We can confirm, despite a European shortage of the Nintendo Wii consoles, that ***** should be able to supply your pre-ordered Nintendo Wii at launch.

If you no longer wish to keep your pre-order with ***** please login to your account and remove the item from your Outstanding Orders.

Pre-ordered within an hour of being able to pre-order on their site :)

Wonder how bad the shortages were/are, this was the first I had heard of it.

You two are evil :(
I also ordered on the day they started taking them but didn't get a launch day one.
They were about the first to take orders though so I suppose they got thousands of order for probably just a few hundred consoles.

^^ oh now that takes the rip what day did you order the wii, I can't believe I didn't get one.

Can't be bothered to use there site again now. I wonder how many people will be disappointed by this considering the possible number of pre-orders after the 19/10/2006.

There loss will take my christmas shopping else where this year. Why don't sites invest in decent websites that count down the number of pre-ordered stocked so people can save themselves the time and effort.:(

15/09/2006 15:43 was when I got the confirmation. If i recall it was announced around Lunchtime, and then the site had it on there about an hour or so later.

I got an email from what seems to be the same company saying that they were now taking pre-orders even tho they had been for months before. Got the email at the start of the month.

If the wii was up for pre-orders on the 15th then just imagine how many pre-orders will not be meet by Christmas.

We as it turns out this is no bad thing for me, I had sometime booked off work to spend with my Wii, my boss just begged me to work so he could go on holiday and wanted me to cover him, but I had the time booked of first so its was my call.

Sorted it out with him, he's gona give me £200 for cancelling my holiday, and will give me 5 extra days off for the year. Of course milked it for all it was worth :D

So now I've cancelled my order and booked a holiday for myself in the new year. Silver lining in ever cloud hey, just a case of finding the silver.

Sod the Wii, sun and sand for me :D

I got a leaflet thru my door from the major computer games store.... "**** cannot be held responsible for changes to stock delivery dates or launch date however, you are guaranteed to receive a Nintendo Wii from our launch deliveries"

nice :) went in store and pre ordered mine on the 26th of september

I got an email from Game on 26/09 at 18:33 saying preorders are open, my receipt is from 26/09 at 22:20 and I haven't heard anything since.

I hope I get one, I want Zelda!

I pre ordered mine on the 15/09/2006 as well, but i remember reading that this competitor had over 7000 pre orders for the wii in the first five day of pre orders

Phew, do I feel lucky. I left mine till late, infact I didn't pre-order till 21/10/2006 from Game. I got a thing through the post today saying I'm definately getting one :)

I'd try your local Game store to see if you can still get one, I think Game tend to get one of the biggest stock supplies of new consoles, they've never let me down yet anyway.

Are you sure about lack of Wii consoles? I find it hard to believe especially that Nintendo are making millions of Wii.

Yeah, it's quite feasable. You've got to remember that out of those 4million releases before xmas 2006, they are going to 3 areas: America, Japan and Europe.

If you said America and Japan got a million each, Europe got 2 million and then split it down further by saying mainland Europe and the UK get a million each, then it starts to look worrying.

But in reality, it'll probably be a 750,000k to Japan, 2m to USA and 1.25m to Europe, of which we'll probably get 500,000k.

AND THEN, that's on the assumption that they get made, packaged AND despatched by 8th December (4 weeks on Friday).

Pre-Orders should be fine, but I still think people are gonna be disappointed towards Christmas if they leave it last minute.

Well i'm hoping to pick one up on launch day (friend is non food manager in a large tesco extra store) If not i think i'll just grab a 360 until the new year. Plan was to get both but the wii first.

i ordered mine on 1st october from Game. o and it turns out i ordered a better package than i thought.

zelda AND red steel. WOOi OO im going to pee myself when zelda begins.

but i havent had a letter confirming my order so im bit worried now.

Also this company you lot have ordered off, who is it?

A lot have ordered from GamePlay.co.uk, and better still, it's not a competitor so can be freely posted. That's GamePlay.co.uk
