Well, my fans where doing my head in being so god dam loud, so i tunred them down using the little switches inside my case (Antec 900). That was fine until about 2 minutes later when my computer hanged, when it restarted it was stuck on 640x480 and a colour depth of 4. Any time i try and change the settings back to 32bit or the resolution it automaticly reverts back to 640x480.

I tried to go into post after rebooting but the display was also buggered up in there, and it wouldnt let me select anything other than the defualt option. (sorry bout pic, wasnt sure if print screen would work on post)

Anybody got any ideas what might have caused this? (also not sure if this is the right area for this thread!)

Cheers, Vice

ah, assumed it was probably something GFX related lol, not really much of a problem as im getting a new rig in the coming weeks. Anybody got any suggestions for a temporary fix? Ive just tried re-installing my drivers aswell, but still no luck :(

cheers for you help.

While you're at it, check that the fans on the card are working and are not completely choked with dust.

If it does turn out to be the card RMA it and sell what ever card they send you will help fund your new rig! :P

Cheers for your help guys. Managed to fix the problem with a new gfx card, got a 8600GS today and put that in and everything worked fine. Also gave my case a wee clean out aswell as it was rank with dust!
