Not getting full speed going through my router

Hi people
I just received my new super hub 2 from Virgin and when I connect it straight to my pc I get the correct speeds of 150mb.
However as soon as I put it through my normal router (TP-LINK 1043nd) I only achieve 110mb. (this is wired ethernet)
I have tried different ethernet cables and disconnecting all wireless devices but it makes no difference?
How can I get my full speed through or what is taking up so much bandwith?
Any advice appreciated
Regards

The Router's processor simply isn't fast enough to copy with the throughput

e.g. Benchmarks here

It is a reasonably old (and lower end) router which when released 150Mb wasn't available.

Something recent (and high end) such as the Netgear R7000 for example can cope with over 900Mb/s

Oh ok.....so will the one you reccomend give me usb network storage and usb network printer capabilities? If so I shall purchase...

That is certainly an easier price to stomach and yes I have always been happy with my current router....
Would i be missing out on anything going for that cheaper tp-link over say a netgear or asus more expensive model?....other than a stronger wifi signal?
