my GTX260 Maxcore is not going down to 2D clocks (aka power saving mode) when i have "extend desktop to this monitor" ticked.

basically, if i enable my secondary display (pretty much all the time), the graphics card goes to full 3D clocks and stays there forever. until i disable the secondary display, then the GPU does to 2D clock within seconds. :wallbash:

why is this happening? is there any fix way i can fix this issue?

Just a bug thats been around since the GTX200 series was launched, I doubt they will ever fit it so your only option is to disable the second display when your not using it. :(

you are having this issue as well??

damn it...... okay, i'll disable it when i do overnight downloads.

how much extra electricity is it going to use?? surely running at 3D clocks doesn't mean it's using the full 180w (or something)

I've been wondering about this for a while but i had not realized it was due to dual monitors until i read your post. it's a right pain in the neck as i use both monitors 100% of the time.
