Yes. that's right....he's used a forklift truck to suspend the car on stacked pallets.....

Seems the only proper tool in this guys arsenal is himself......

These links were passed to me by TomNBK on MSN, asking if I thought it was sturdy enough for him to get under his new clio or if it was a daft idea..

it's a good job it's a toy car really isnt it! Could've been dangerous with a real car on...

hope someone bookmarks the reg so that when it's up for sale no one touches it with a bargepole!

No MSN... bed time :p

Should be able to sort something out if you want to use them... obviously it's not just me in the unit so it'd have to suit the others too :) Can't see it being an issue though.

I cant see a problem with that as long as when the car is lifted care is payed as to where the forks are placed :)

Pallets will hold that weight without a problem ....

Sam

The weak link in that is the Blue GKN/Chep pallet, they are considerably weaker than the Euro pallets that he used.

Placing a relatively heavy weight (such as a car's wheel) on a small part of one can easily snap a pallet, that said, I doubt the weight of that Clio is going to stress it.

I'd imagine the sill is not looking too clever now!

If it was suspended on solely EuroPallets then I wouldn't think twice about getting under it but some of those look really shabby.

Kudos to the guy for thinking outside the box a little though :)

Good idea.
The weakness there being that all the weight is concentrated on one spot of the pallet which can cause them to buckle - personally I'd have lined it up better (he has the left wheel spot on but the right looks a little too close to the edge of the pallet.

We carry pallets with over 700kg on them quite often, you'd be surprised how strong they are.

I wouldn't have used that particular mix of pallets, 4 Europallets per corner would have been better.

Yeah those pallets (with maybe the exception of the blue one as said) will be fine, but I'm surprised he managed to do each end at a time (I presume) with the forklifts without something giving way! Quite clever as long as he's careful where he places the forklifts under the car

dear god i would get under that! i imagine one hard shove would send 1 and something tonnes of civic crashing down on your face
