Just opened Firefox and the Firezox homepage came up saying that it has been updated. I noticed my theme has been reset to the default and it's got rid of my bookmark taskber thing. I then checked my bookmarks to found that they are no longer there! :mad: :mad:
So annoyed, i must have had over 200 websites on there, some important.

Is there anyway at all to get these back?
Thanks.

C:\Documents and Settings\{account name}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

try looking there for a 'bookmark.html' file. that'll be your favourites.

There's an extension that allows you to upload/download your bookmarks via ftp so that when you reinstall you have all your bookmarks there and you're good to go

Bookmarks Synchroniser SE is the extension ;)

I found the bookmark.html but it just has the default bookmarks in it.
Thanks anyway!

Looks like a switch to Opera then!

Look in the bookmarkbackups folder under there?
If it's that important, I'd have suggested maintaining your own backup, but ho hum...

Is there more than one profile listed?

No. It's just got 'profiles', then inside that there is a 'chrome' folder, a bookmarks link (no bookmarks on), localstore.rdf, mimetypes.rdf and search.rdf. That's all
:)

You've got something totally screwed then.

There should be profiles, then a dir with an odd name (tozqj918.Trunk for example), followed by those files.
It's more than one dir with a weird name I'm talking about :p

Something's totally screwed up then :confused:

Do you have a %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles.ini (and same again, is there more than one profile)?

this?
[General]
StartWithLastProfile=1

[Profile0]
Name=grants
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/mq0xllpo.default

[Profile1]
Name=Default User
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/tvcpcxm8.Default User
Default=1

That's the one.
There should be profiles with the two paths given there (profiles/mq0xllpo.default and Profiles/tvcpcxm8.Default User)

It's extremely weird then :confused:

If you found those folders, you'd probably find your bookmarks (and history etc) too.

I always wondered why the find bar came up when my cat decided to walk across my keyboard, it all makes sense now :p

G-MAN2004, in ff options, under Advanced - Updates is the 'warn me if this will disable extensions or themes' box ticked?
