Hey, just finsihed my new Build, System in sig.

Installed XP which went ok but now everytime i boot my system up, when it gets to the Windows Logo it takes like 20secs to actully get on my desktop, now surely this cant be right?

My AMD Athlon 3400 loaded up quicker than this. Something must be wrong?

Chipset drivers?

Have you disabled all unused network adapters (like Firewire)? These can seriously mess up login time whilst they wait for a non-existant DHCP server to reply.

Yep i have the latest drivers. Yep i have disabled Firewire. Its not just slow on bootup, its all round performance, when for instance i load up the internet and say desktop properties.

Having a hole load of problems, just downloaded Windows Live Messanger and when it tried to install it came up with a message, "Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted cabinet file.

Why why why :( :( :(

When you overclock is one sign of a unstable system, software errors?

For example Win 32 services error?

Maybe this is a Hard Drive problem? minus weather i overclock the machine or not, i experience unusually slow response times, when clicking my computer, my documents etc....?
