Not impressed with creatives RMA process

Sent my X-Fi in to be replaced almost 6 weeks ago and im still waiting for a replacement, and keep getting told that its out of stock. Also, rather annoyingly my RMA number is not recognised by the online RMA status checker :mad: Im getting pretty annoyed about it so have sent them this email ;

Hi there

Please can you check the staus of my RMA again RMA number xxxxxxxxx

I have been waiting for over 5 weeks now for a replacement unit - your website states a maximum turnaround of 14 days so i feel this delay is unfair.

Can you also confirm you have changed my address details, the new address i supplied is my parents house a couple of doors up from me.

As a gesture of goodwill would you consider sending me an alternative card - i would accept anything except an extreme audio card as its worse than the one i returned. I understand the Xtreme gamer or Gamer Fatality is a more expensive card but i feel it would be worth it to keep a customer happy. In fact if you wanted to keep me really happy you could send me an elite pro!

Sounds like the eternal RMA to me, you may have to follow up your e-mail with a few well placed letters out by snail mail and maybe a few phone calls, but that is taking the mick really.

I would have thought turn around from them would be much quicker.
 
God, I hope my X-FI never packs in. Sounds like you've had an awful experience, hope everything turns out alright for you.
 
Ive had a reply this morning saying they will send the RMA department an urgent email. Odd on though i will have to email them again. Makes it worse as there is no phone number for creative at all in the UK
 
Well i think i have a result.

Ive had an email today saying they have sent me a replacement product today. Unfortunalty i think they sent it to my old address so im going have to track it and camp outside my old house to get it :rolleyes:

Checked the online RMA which is now working and it seems they have sent me an X-Fi Platinum :D

It would be but theyve sent it to my old address. I asked them to change it and deliver it to my parentss - they only had to chabge the door number. Hopefully it gets here before saturday when i go.

With any luck i can ring UPS and explain the situation and get it redirected to two doors down :p

Is that from the date they recieved your card? Mine was out of stock which is obviously the reason for the delay but its all good now, ive rang UPS and its on its way to my new address :)
 
BEST OF LUCK, Creative = good hardware + crap software apps/drivers + bad support.

I live and hope they improve someday, been with them since Live 5.1, and for other aspects not just soundcards.
