Not my day....dvd drive missing.

Put in a disc that was quite scratched in hope that windows would read it. It didnt so tried to eject, it froze/crashed and had to force quit.
It wouldnt eject so thought maybe restarting to help and now going into My Computer the dvd doesnt show and the disc it stills inside.

Using win7.
How do i fix this?

shut the computer down and eject the disk by sticking a straightened-out paperclip into the backup-ejection hole, which will be somewhere on the front of the drive

Right click my computer, click manage, click on device manager on the left then on the right under "your name pc" right click and scan for hard ware changes.

Should pick it back up.

restarting brought it back up. T'was a weird one!
